Tea Drum Sorter

Oranges were a huge industry on the island until blight struck in the mid 1800s. At that time a number of other crops were tried to replace the orange industry and tea was one of these. It turned out that conditions were perfect for growing tea and in 1883 the Chá Gorreana Tea Company was born. It grows black and green teas and produces about 44 tons annually.
